C.A.R.E. Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education
C.A.R.E. is a state-funded program intended to recruit and assist recipients of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF, formerly known as AFDC) who would like to attend college on a full time basis. Like EOP&S, C.A.R.E helps eligible students to obtain their educational goal of certificate, degree or transfer by providing additional support through counseling, tutoring, cash financial assistance, including book grants, transfer services, career advisement, and other important types of help.
In order to qualify, a student must be an EOP&S eligible single parent with at least one child under 14 years of age, and must currently be receiving cash aid through TANF benefits.
Go to your community college website or visit the college EOP&S office for additional information and qualification criteria.
